We waited nearly an hour to get in. Worth it! The Shio (salt) ramen has the number 1 rating. We ordered one shio and on spicy. Both tasted amazing! The spicy one was not spicy imo, but ¥100 more you can get extra spicy. We also order a side of gyoza. Delicious!

Since 1988 the original location started with shio tonkotsu ramen 1000円 so that's what I tried. Very smooth, easy to consume broth. Not too salty. Chashuu was good. Egg 150円 was perfect. Noodles not bad but I prefer yellow curly noodles prevalent in hokkaido. Overall it's nice to try the original location. In my hometown Toronto we have one and it's always busy.

The ramen here exhibits a notable distinction from its Philippine counterpart. The Shio ramen, in particular, is exceptionally rich, flavorful, and delicious.

Indeed this is a really good place to have a delicious bowl of tonkatsu ramen. We ordered the signature which is reasonably priced. Bowl sizes differentiates the quantity of noodles. My order of large was a tad too much. The pork slices (3 each bowl) was good and the hot soup base was just a God send in a cold winter night. Each bowl comes with a small preserved plum. One will run the risk that the place runs out of soup hence will close before the scheduled closing time. Seating is comfortable and restaurant is clean. Payment by credit card is acceptable and so was english communication.

I learnt that Asahikawa is known for its shoyu ramen, and Ramen Santouka originated here. I came to the Honten early, and did not have to wait for a seat. There are partitioned seats where one could enjoy their meals with some privacy. There was menu limited to the Honten, so I decided to try the cold noodle, which was rather refreshing to have during the summer, and the ingredients provide a mixture of taste. I would certainly come back if I have the time.

Located outside the train station I just had their best selling ramen and some gyoza. Possibly the best ramen I had since coming to Hokkaido. Very high quality and so flavourful. Very simple and yet warmly decorated, loved the jazz music in the background, kudos to whoever picked it. The ramen chef is eye candy too , so that's added value. Go, you won't regret it!
